Terms of Service

The short version

MMA Zone is an independent mixed martial arts publication. You can read it without an account. If you make an account you can comment, and you can submit articles for an editor to consider. Be accurate, be civil, and do not post things that are not yours to post.

Your account

You need to be 13 or older to hold an account. You give a date of birth at registration and we use it only to check that.

You are responsible for what happens under your account, so use a real password and turn on two-factor authentication from your profile if you can. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has got in.

One account per person. Do not impersonate anyone — another member, a fighter, a journalist, or staff here.

We may suspend or remove an account used to break these terms. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.

What you post

This covers comments and anything you submit as an article.

You keep ownership of what you write. By posting it you give us permission to publish it on MMA Zone, to edit it for clarity, length and house style, and to include it in our feeds and archives. That permission is not exclusive — you are free to publish your work elsewhere as well, including work we have already run.

Do not post:

• anything that is not yours to post, including text or images you do not hold the rights to
• anything false that you present as fact, or rumour with no source behind it
• personal attacks, harassment, or content targeting someone because of who they are
• private information about anyone, including yourself
• machine-generated writing passed off as your own reporting
• advertising, spam, or links posted for search-engine gain

We can remove anything that breaks these rules, and we do not have to publish anything that is submitted.

Contributed articles

Contributing is currently unpaid. That is stated plainly on the Write for us page and it is not buried anywhere in these terms.

An editor reads every submission. Accepting one is not a promise to publish it, and editing may change wording, length and structure. If an edit would change what the piece actually says, we come back to you first.

Once a piece is with an editor it locks, so the text under review is the text that gets read. Rejected pieces unlock again so you can revise and resubmit.

Corrections

If we publish something wrong we add a dated correction to the article rather than silently editing it. If you spot an error, tell us at [email protected].

Our content

Articles, images and design on MMA Zone belong to us or to whoever licensed them to us. Fighter and event data is licensed from a third-party provider and is subject to that provider's terms. You may quote and link to us; you may not republish whole articles without asking.

MMA Zone is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the UFC or any other promotion. Trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to describe the sport we cover.

No warranty

We publish carefully, but we do not promise the site is always available, always correct, or always up to date. Nothing here is betting advice, medical advice, or legal advice.

Ending it

You can delete your account at any time from your profile, and you can stop using the site whenever you like.

Changes

We update these terms from time to time. Material changes bump the version shown at the top of this page, and we may ask you to accept the new version before continuing.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the law of Nevada, United States.
